Description
Woman’s riding habit, consisting of bodice and matching skirt, in dark navy blue wool broadcloth. Bodice with turned-down lapels, fastening centre front with hooks and eyes, diagonal rows of buttons from shoulders to centre waist. Full-length gigot sleeves with pinch pleats at shoulders, fitted into cuffs. Slightly raised v-shaped waistline with small tail centre back. Lined in black silk with padding. Skirt, full-length, small sleeveless bodice in black silk, skirt flat at centre front, pleated at sides with fullness at back, wide train. Worn by Janet Fraser, wife of Lewis Hoyes or her sister, Mary Fraser, wife of Dr John Poyntz Munro.
